What improvements do you plan to make to the county clerk's office to better serve the public?
 

I plan to evaluate the day-to-day operations of the office and find ways to make improvements where needed. I also want to identify and implement any changes that will help the county to save money. In addition, I want to bring fresh ideas and new leadership to this office. We will efficiently and professionally serve all the people of Putnam County. My goal will be to have the best operating clerk’s office in the state of Tennessee.

 

What makes you the most qualified candidate?
 

After more than 25 years in business management and training from some of the world’s top brands, I am prepared and qualified to lead this office from day one. I am honest, trustworthy, and have built many wonderful relationships with the great people of Putnam County. In addition, I believe the Clerk’s Office will benefit from my professional and enthusiastic leadership style that will be focused on leading this office and serving our community well.

What is the role of county clerk, and why did you decide to run for this position?

The role of the county clerk encompasses many moving parts, and it serves as one of the most important county offices. Daily responsibilities include vehicle registrations and titles, license plate renewals, marriage licenses, business licenses and tax collection for county businesses, notary public applications, boat/watercraft registrations, beer permits and tax, county commission records and minutes, and various other collections of taxes and fees. I decided to run for this office because I have a passion for serving people. I have felt a calling to serve full-time in public office for a while, but the timing was not right. When I learned that the current county clerk would not seek reelection, I made the decision to run.
